Tammy Heerkens, DVM, completed her veterinary doctorate at The University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College, in Ontario, Canada. She then pursued a one year small animal rotating internship at Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009-2010. With a heavy emphasis in emergency critical care and internal medicine, the stage was set for future aspirations.

She then spent several years traveling North America working as an ECC clinician with some GP experience to round out her skills. Over the last 3 years she has opened her own staffing agency in Hawai’i and operates a successful relief veterinarian service locally. She now works and mentors throughout the Hawaiian islands.  

 She is excited to offer her knowledge, aid, and compassion to both new graduates and seasoned veterinarians alike. Teamwork makes the dream work after all.
