Linda Speizer, DVM - Chirp Veterinary Mentor

Linda Speizer, DVM, has worked in various aspects of the veterinary industry for over thirty years, serving as a Veterinary Technician to Associate vet to Practice Owner, with stops as a locum and work in industry. Prior to attending Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, she worked as a veterinary technician in an AAHA small animal practice in Massachusetts, USA.

After gaining experience as an Associate veterinarian in small and mixed animal veterinary hospitals, she worked full time as a locum/relief veterinarian in Ontario, Canada for 12 years. During that time, she was also Chief Veterinary Advisor to a national Pet Insurance company, reviewing pet insurance claims, underwriting, and advising on medical issues.

In 2007, Dr. Speizer purchased a practice in New Brunswick, Canada. She built this practice into a busy AAHA Accredited small animal hospital before selling the hospital in 2020. Since then, she has returned to working as a locum/relief veterinarian on a part-time basis.

Dr. Speizer currently holds veterinary licenses in New Brunswick and Massachusetts and provides locum/relief services in both locations.

Her interests in the veterinary world are varied — she loves a good hard case workup, sharing views on diagnostic results, and discussing all the next best steps. She also understands how hard this profession is day in and day out.

She shares her home with a husband, dog, and two senior cats and is an avid biker, triathlete, beekeeper, and ukulele dabbler. https://vetlocumnb.ca/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/linda-speizer-dvm-7599a746/
