Kristen Turner, DVM

Kristen Turner, DVM, graduated from Texas A&M University with honors in 2013, and for the past 10 years has been working at small and exotic animal private practices in Texas. With a passion for exotic animal medicine, Dr. Turner enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating a variety of species. Her veterinary interests include advancing exotic companion mammal and reptile medicine through excellent diagnostics, therapeutics and client education, as well as small and exotic animal dentistry and pain management. Dr. Turner has been the Externship Coordinator at her small and exotic animal practice since 2020, organizing and hosting several veterinary students from across the US each year.  

Dr. Turner previously served as the chair of the Recent Graduate/Student Liaison Committee for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and is now working to establish an Exotic Animal Practice Committee within the organization. She is a member of the Association of Exotic Companion Mammal Veterinarians, where she volunteers as the Vice Chair of Education on the Marketing/Education committee and is a member of the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. She married her high school sweetheart, Travis, and their family is made up of four dogs, a Quaker parrot, a dwarf lionhead rabbit and a corn snake. Dr. Turner enjoys spending her free time hiking, playing board games, wine-tasting and traveling the world with Travis. ​
