Katherine Donahue DVM Chirp Mentor

Dr. Katherine Donahue received her DVM degree from Michigan State University in 1994. She currently practices small animal general medicine at Schultz Veterinary Clinic in Okemos, Michigan. She loves the study of canine reproduction, preventative medicine and behavior. Dr. Donahue is proficient in multiple advanced reproductive services including transcervical inseminations, pre-breeding health screens, and breeding timing via laboratory testing. 

Dr. Donahue has served for many years with the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association’s Animal Welfare Committee. Additionally, she has volunteered her time with Michigan’s Licensing and Regulatory Agency’s Health Professional Recovery Program as the Veterinary Medicine representative.  She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lansing. 

Veterinary telemedicine and teletriage are additional interest areas for Dr. Donahue. She was the Veterinary Medical Director at GuardianVets, a teletriage service provider, for five years. 

When not working or volunteering, Dr. Donahue loves reading, running and walking with her dogs, traveling, and needlepoint. She has a strong desire to ensure that the profession of veterinary medicine is as enjoyable to others as it is to her. She has had amazing mentors along the way and is looking forward to assisting others in the same way.
