Jon Romano, DVM Chirp Vet Mentor

Jon Romano, DVM, graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. He then participated in a small animal rotating internship at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital, followed by an avian, exotics, and zoological medicine internship at Colorado State University. Since then, Dr. Romano has practiced at several zoos and aquariums throughout the country. Although Dr. Romano’s patients have ranged from small toads to elephants, he has found that he has relied heavily on his veterinary knowledge of domestic species. Throughout his career, Dr. Romano has continued to practice small animal medicine on a relief basis. He currently serves as an assistant professor for Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine, teaching exotics and lab animal medicine and clinical skills.

Dr. Romano believes there is no cookie-cutter approach to veterinary medicine and understands the unique challenges that are presented to veterinarians daily. In his spare time, Dr. Romano enjoys traveling and spending time with friends, family, and his pets.
