Gal Chivvis, DVM, is a graduate of Iowa State University. She graduated in 2011 with a DVM. Following graduation she completed a 1 year rotating small animal and surgery internship. Since that time she has been practicing emergency medicine, both in an ER-only facility (for 8 years) and currently, at an ER specialty hospital. Dr. Chivvis also performs telemedicine consults, to the general public, as time permits. Dr Chivvis is RECOVER trained in CPR. She is also the Wellness Ambassador at her current facility, and has undergone additional training in Mental Health First Aid. Dr. Chivvis is passionate about emergency medicine and is very well versed at both offering the gold standard of care for each patient, as well as modifications of care, as needed, so as to allow a more practical approach based on the owner's means and desires.

Dr. Chivvis has found her biggest passion within the field is supporting those who work within it. She will be happy to chat regarding both medical related questions, as well as be a listening ear for those who would like it. She understands this field can be incredibly challenging at times, and wants us all to remember that we are NEVER alone in this, and there is always support when we need it.
