Christy Packard DVM Chirp Vet Mentor

Dr. Christy Packard’s passions led her to pursue two careers — one in music and the other in veterinary medicine. After obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in studio composition, she worked at several record labels and DJed at venues around the world, including in New York City, Miami, and Austria. But eventually her love for animals lead her to pursue a second career as a veterinarian.

She was accepted at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at the University of Florida. Back on Long Island, Dr. Packard worked at several local hospitals educating the community in preventative medicine. She approaches her patients with compassion, always striving to alleviate their anxiety and stress in order to make their experience as fear-free as possible. Above all, she loves ensuring that her patients get the best medical care possible, whether it is establishing the care of a new puppy or kitten, navigating through serious disease processes, or helping an old friend to pass with peace and dignity.

Dr. Packard enjoys mentoring new veterinary graduates who are just beginning their careers. When she is not working, she loves to garden, crochet, make jewelry, watch the sunset, and spend time with her husband, son, stepson, four cats, and two senior dogs.
